NDA Check In

We had 12 attendees in total this year and our Georgia team met with the offices Representative Hank Johnson (Rep.  Johnson met with our attorneys personally), Rep. Lucy McBath, rep. Sanford Bishop, Rep. Nikema Williams, and Senator Jon Ossoff.  Our Alabama team met with the offices of Rep. Dale Strong, Sen. Tommy Tumberville, and Sen. Katie Britt.

Our attorneys who met with the Alabama offices were pleasantly surprised by their discussion and felt they were able to make progress in advocating for immigration reform with those Republican offices.  On the Georgia side, we had a great discussion with Jon Ossoff’s office and we are continuing to grow that relationship by collaborating with his team in information gathering about conditions in detention centers so that they can better conduct oversight.  We also had a great discussion with Lucy McBath’s office and were happy to learn how directly involved. Representative McBath has been in visiting the detention centers and and advocating for immigration reform.
